Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy is a form of physical therapy that exposes the body to low-frequency, pulsed magnetic fields.   • Potential Side Effects: Though rare, some individuals may experience temporary tingling, itching, mild pain, or skin irritation. These usually resolve quickly after sessions. Overstimulation from excessive intensity or duration could worsen symptoms, so we start low and monitor progress.
  • Bleeding Risks: PEMF may increase bleeding tendencies in those on blood-thinning medications (e.g., anticoagulants), so consult your doctor if this applies.
  • Specific Contraindications: Avoid PEMF if you’re pregnant, have active bleeding disorders, epilepsy, or certain cancers, as the fields could theoretically influence cell growth. It’s also not suitable during acute infections or fevers.
