Way To Home, Body’s Restoration And Re-Balancing
Structural therapy is a treatment method that focuses on the mutual influence between local structure and overall structure. When a part of the body is abnormal, in addition to considering direct trauma, it is also necessary to consider whether it is the result of the body’s compensation. Treating the disease requires treating the root cause rather than just following the symptoms.
Structural therapy was created by the renowned Taiwanese integrated medicine master Lin Liang-chuan. He proposed that the three-dimensional structural network is a dense and interconnected web, and all the body’s tissues are wrapped in this web. Any change in local tension will affect the whole body. The restoration of the structure is not just about arranging each local structure, but about restoring the entire system, otherwise the problem cannot be fundamentally improved.
Structural therapy divides the human body’s three-dimensional structural network into three axes: the longitudinal axis, the transverse axis, and the anterior-posterior axis. The diagnosis is based on these three axes for further root cause exploration.
After finding the source of the problem, the treatment will proceed from the superficial to the deep, addressing the connections of the skin, tendons, and bones. By finding the body’s “way home”, that is, the aligned connection between multiple joints, and stimulating muscle contraction with gentle manual or needle techniques, the structure can be returned to its proper position. A crucial step is to release the terminal fascia of the fingers, resolving the adhesions of the connective tissues, so that the structure can truly be repaired after realignment.
Structural therapy can handle problems arising from abnormal fascia tension. Stiffness, pain, and loss of function in the tissue system are often caused by the fascia system being pulled and twisted for a long time, leading to excessive tension, fibrosis of the connective tissues, and obstruction of blood supply and nerve connections. Restoring the structure is like watering a dried-up farmland, bringing vitality and life.
Generally, non-fracture, non-ligament tear pain, some skin allergic reactions, and certain dysfunction in the internal organ system can be positively affected by structural therapy.
